As a Winter Maintenance operative, you will undertake winter maintenance gritting driving duties on a temporary basis, from October to April.
Various work patterns available covering day shift and night shift. To be discussed at interview.
You will have a flexible attitude to work, be health and safety aware and be able to effectively communicate with work colleagues, supervisory staff and client representatives.
- You will have the ability to work to precise levels and requirements of winter maintenance work, such as:
- Driving winter maintenance gritters as and when required along designated routes (i.e. driving which requires a Category C licence or specialist driving skills).
- Operate winter maintenance gritters safely, effectively, efficiently, and to the required quality and standard set out by Tayside Contracts.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any vehicle defects immediately.
- Contribute to snow clearance activities when required which would involve attaching the snow plough to the winter maintenance gritters.
A Category C Driving Licence or equivalent entitlement to drive in Great Britain is essential and Category C+E is desirable.
A drivers CPC for HGV Licence is essential and a CSCS Health and Safety card is preferred but not essential.
