As an Apprentice Mechanic, you will have the opportunity to gain hands on experience maintaining a diverse fleet of vehicles and plant for both Tayside Contracts and our external customers. You will also be required to attend block release, currently at Edinburgh College, and study for and pass all exams to gain a recognised industry qualification.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to start their career in transport with a great opportunity to secure permanent employment with Tayside Contracts upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
The apprenticeship scheme is focussed to target youth unemployment and is open to individuals aged 16-24. Due to funding restrictions, preference will be given to candidates aged 16-19 on or mid September, and individuals aged between 20-29 if you have a disability or are care experienced.
If you are interested in pursuing a career in the transport industry learning from experienced professionals over a 4 year period, are enthusiastic and motivated, have the ability to work as part of a team, communicate effectively, follow instructions and hold a Nat 5 (or equivalent) in English and Maths, then we’d love to hear from you.
You will also be paid:
Tool allowance - £15.75 per week
