As an Assistant Cook, you will undertake, normally under the general direction of a higher graded operative in a kitchen, the preparation, cooking and serving of meals.
You will be a flexible, adaptable individual with effective organisational and interpersonal skills. With cooking, preparation and food presentation skills, you will have previous experience of working in catering, previous experience of directing and supervising catering assistants, an elementary food hygiene certificate and working knowledge of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP).
You will have the ability to:
- assist with the control of budgetary costs
- assist with the effective control of food hygiene, health and safety
- carry out administration duties and;
- identify training needs within a catering team.
